✨ What services do you offer?

At our creative studios in Sausalito, California, and Berkeley, California, we offer immersive jewelry-making experiences where you design and craft your own sterling silver or 14k gold fill rings, bracelets, necklaces, or earrings. We have dozens of semi-precious gemstones to choose from, as well as many choices of chains, charms and bands.

Our workshops are perfect for beginners — we guide you through traditional metalsmithing techniques like soldering, shaping, and polishing.

We also specialize in permanent jewelry — beautiful, clasp-free chains that are custom-fitted and welded onto your wrist, ankle, or neck for a lasting and meaningful keepsake.

🔨 What will I do during a workshop?

You’ll start by selecting your design and materials from our curated collection. Then we’ll teach you how to:

  • Shape and form your piece

  • Use a torch to solder metal

  • Add your gemstone(s)

  • File, hammer, and polish to a professional finish

Even if it’s your first time, you’ll leave with a gorgeous, high-quality piece you’ll be proud to wear. We work with beginners every day — and we see beautiful results every time.

🔥 What is soldering?

Soldering is a traditional metalsmithing process that joins two pieces of metal using heat and a filler metal called solder. It’s how we create durable, seamless jewelry — and yes, you’ll learn how to use a torch safely and confidently in your session.

⛓️ What is permanent jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is a delicate, custom-fit chain that’s welded directly onto your body — no clasp, no hassle. It's safe, stylish, and designed to stay on as long as you want it.

We offer:

  • 40+ chain styles in sterling silver and 14k gold fill

  • A stunning selection of charms and connectors — including birthstones, gemstones, astrological signs, initials, and more.

Whether it's to celebrate a milestone, a connection, or just for fun — it’s a beautiful way to mark a moment.

🌊 Where is your studio located?

We have 2 locations: 

1: 305 Caledonia Street, in the seaside village of Sausalito, California, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. Come for the jewelry, stay for the views, our studio is a welcoming space surrounded by coastal beauty, wonderful restaurants and great shopping. We also have a charming garden for groups to relax in after the making session. Free street parking is available. 

2: 1824 Fourth Street, in the middle of the Fourth Street shopping district in Berkeley, California. We are on the 2nd floor of an historic building, with soaring ceilings and unique brickwork details. We are close to world class restaurants and shopping - there is free 3-hour parking behind the studio. Look for us in the corner next to the back entrance of Sur la Table. 

👶 Is this age-appropriate for kids?

Yes — children are welcome with an adult!

  • Soldering is recommended for ages 10 and up

  • For younger children, we offer charm bracelet-making activities (no heat involved), which are fun to make - we have dozens of charms to choose from

🥂 Do you offer jewelry-making parties?

Yes! We host unforgettable jewelry-making parties right here in the Bay Area — perfect for birthdays, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, girls’ night out, team gatherings, or just celebrating creativity with friends.

You can make jewelry or we can do permanent jewelry for your group - it's up to you! 

💎 What’s included in a jewelry-making party?

Each guest (up to 12 Makers) will create:

  • A small stone sterling silver ring, personalized with your choice of band style and stone

  • A 3-charm sterling silver bracelet, customized with your custom metal charm (see below), preferred chain and another 2 charms from our huge selection

  • A custom metal-stamped charm, made by you using our professional stamping equipment

You’ll walk away with gorgeous, personalized jewelry — and even better memories.

Prices start at $100 per person - and you can upgrade to larger stones or 14k gold fill if you prefer.

🍷 Can we bring food and drinks?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks to enjoy in our charming garden space in Sausalito or in our comfortable studio space in Berkeley. It’s the perfect setting for relaxing, creating, and celebrating with your favorite people.

đź‘Ż How many guests can you accommodate?

We can host up to 12 guests per party (10 in Sausalito), and everyone will get personalized instruction and access to our full range of tools and materials.

This isn’t your average DIY craft night — it’s a fully guided, hands-on experience where you’ll make high-quality sterling silver or gold fill jewelry that you’ll be proud to wear.

♿️ Can guests in wheelchairs access your jewelry making classes? 

Silverwork Studios is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for all visitors.

Sausalito: We are on the ground floor and can accommodate a wheelchair at the end of one of our working tables. The studio is very narrow, so we will need to move chairs to ensure wide enough aisles for access to all of the equipment. We do have a ADA compliant bathroom. 

Berkeley: Our studio is located on the second floor of a historic building that does not currently have elevator access. We recognize that this may pose challenges for individuals who use wheelchairs or have mobility limitations. While installing an elevator or lift is not structurally feasible at this time, we are happy to provide alternative accommodations to ensure everyone can participate in our offerings. These may include:

  • Meeting customers in an accessible ground-floor location nearby

  • Offering virtual consultations and workshops

  • Providing photos, videos, or digital previews of our studio experience
