Everyone Is Creative: Inside a Silverwork Studios Workshop
At Silverwork Studios, we believe something simple and powerful: everyone is creative. You don’t need experience, talent, or a background in jewelry to walk through our doors, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Our goal is for every person who joins one of our workshops to leave with a beautiful, handmade piece of jewelry they’re proud of, and to have a genuinely great time making it. That belief is reflected in what we’re most proud of: our many 5-star reviews from makers who surprised themselves with what they created.
Our Philosophy
Silverwork Studios isn’t about perfection or turning people into professional jewelers. It’s about the joy of making something meaningful with your own hands.
Here’s what guides everything we do:
-
Everyone is creative. Truly.
-
Beginner-friendly by design. Our workshops are built for people who have never made jewelry before.
-
The customer is always right. We want you to be happy with your piece and your experience.
-
Fun matters. Workshops should be challenging, engaging, and smile-inducing.
-
DIY means handmade. Your piece doesn’t need to look “perfect.” This is your first jewelry piece, imperfections are part of the magic.
Makers, Not Customers
At Silverwork Studios, our customers are called makers. Most makers have never designed jewelry before, and that’s exactly who our workshops are for. We provide structure, guidance, and proven designs, while leaving room for personal expression and creativity.
Every maker creates at least one custom jewelry piece and a custom metal stamp. With time permitting, many choose to make a second piece at a discounted rate.
A Guided, Creative Experience
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a relaxed, supportive studio environment. Everything on our design board can be made within a 1–2 hour session, and our team will guide you step by step.
You’ll begin by envisioning your design and choosing materials, your stone, band, chain, and metal. Choosing is often the hardest part, and we encourage questions and exploration. There’s no rush, but decisions are typically made within the first 20–30 minutes to keep the workshop flowing smoothly.
From there, you’ll move through the hands-on process:
-
Measuring and custom-fitting your piece
-
Cutting, shaping, sanding, hammering, or stamping metal
-
Learning safe and supervised soldering
-
Watching your metal transform through fire, pickle, and polish
-
Setting your stone and finishing your piece
Throughout the workshop, our instructors act as guides, stepping in when needed, encouraging you when things feel tricky, and making sure you’re involved in as much of the making as you want. The magic is in doing it yourself.
Handmade, Made for You
Every piece is custom-fit, rings sized just for you, bracelets shaped to your wrist, necklaces cut to the perfect length. Along the way, you’ll learn how metals behave, why silver and gold fill change color when heated, and how polishing brings everything to life.
You may even get to try gold plating, one of our favorite moments. Watching a piece transform right before your eyes never gets old.
The Takeaway
Silverwork Studios is about more than jewelry. It’s about confidence, creativity, and the joy of making something meaningful with your own hands.
You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece, something handmade, imperfect, personal, and entirely yours. When someone asks you where you got your fabulous piece of jewelry, you can proudly say - "I made it myself!"
And more often than not, you’ll leave thinking:
“I didn’t know I could do that.”
We love proving that you can.
