Jewelry Makers Weekend - Oct 14 & 15

OCTOBER 14 & 15: 11am to 3pm both days

JEWELRY MAKERS WEEKEND:  

Over the course of a weekend (4 hours Saturday and 4 hours Sunday), we will teach the skills, steps and safety precautions to design your own jewelry including how to solder and how to make your own bezel. You will design and craft your own:  

- sterling silver rings, bracelet, necklace and earrings with your choice of gemstones

- create a custom design of your choice

- reimagine some of your old jewelry

- gets lots of practice soldering

Limit 10 participants for the weekend

SKILLS LEARNED:

- jewelry making tools, safety, setting a stone into a bezel, cutting and measuring chain, using jump rings to connect jewelry, stamping and punching metal, soldering, using an arc welder to join metal

- information about semi-precious gemstones and learn to identify

- design and fabricate rings, bracelets and pendants from sterling sheet metal and wire, solder to create a bezel and set a cabochon gemstone

- bring your own gemstone or a piece of jewelry to reimagine, more practice creating bezels and create your own design for custom jewelry
